This week’s Featured Album: Bantu - What Is Your Breaking Point?
BANTU - Your Silence
“What is your Breaking Point?” is an album addressing the themes of Africa's brain-drain, post colonial trauma, gender oppression and social class discrimination.
It is the 7th Studio Album by Bantu released in June this year. The band are known for fusing Afro-Beat, Afrofunk with Yourba musical influences of West Africa.
They are a 13 piece collective are based in Lagos in Nigeria, but were formed in 1996 in Germany by the core of the band who were living there. And the name? The name was chosen to honour South African anti-apartheid activist Steve Bantu Biko.
