ROSALÍA - Berghain (Official Video) feat. Björk & Yves Tumor
Rosalía’s ‘LUX’ Shines as a Daring Masterpiece of Spiritual Pop
The Around the World featured album is normally reserved for the more obscure, less well known album. This week I have chosen one which may well become one of the most successful albums of the year. With her skill for re-invention, experimentation and creativity, Rosalía retains a strong hold on her roots.
The Spanish pop visionary returns with LUX, her fourth studio album and most ambitious project to date. Released on November 7, LUX blends orchestral grandeur, operatic intensity, and multilingual lyricism into a sweeping meditation on mysticism, femininity, and transcendence. The album features collaborations with Björk, Yves Tumor, Carminho, Estrella Morente, and Yahritza y su Esencia, and spans 18 tracks across four movements.
Recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and sung in 14 languages—including Latin, Arabic, Japanese, and Sicilian—LUX draws inspiration from female saints and spiritual figures across cultures. Rosalía’s voice soars through haunting ballads like “Divinize” and the Italian aria “Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti,” while tracks like “Berghain” and “Dios Es Un Stalker” explore divine obsession and earthly chaos.
Critics have hailed LUX as a career-defining work, earning a 98/100 on Metacritic and breaking Spotify’s record for most streams in a day by a female Spanish-language artist. With LUX, Rosalía doesn’t just push boundaries—she reimagines what pop music can be when it dares to reach for the sacred.

Le Vent du Nord - Millennium Stage (October 29, 2025)
Le Vent du Nord’s ‘Voisinages’ Celebrates Musical Kinship Across Borders
Québec’s beloved folk ensemble Le Vent du Nord returns with Voisinages, a vibrant new album. The title—meaning “neighbourhoods”—reflects the band’s exploration of musical and cultural proximity, weaving together Celtic, Acadian, and Franco-American traditions. From the rollicking “Par-dessus le pont,” inspired by an 18th-century neighbourly feud, to the reflective “Du Nord au Sud,” the album captures stories of connection, conflict, and shared heritage.
Arranged by the group’s five members and recorded in Montréal, Voisinages features rich instrumentation—hurdy-gurdy, bombarde, bouzouki, and foot percussion—alongside guest artists like cajun musician Blake Miller from Louisiana and Michel Faubert, singer, storyteller, Quebec ethnographer.
With Voisinages, Le Vent du Nord deepens their commitment to storytelling through sound, inviting listeners into a musical neighbourhood where history and harmony meet.

Inni-K - ‘Still A Day’ - Live at Levis’
Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Inni-K (Eithne Ní Chatháin) blends traditional sean-nós roots with contemporary folk in her fourth album, Still A Day. The album is a deeply personal response to emotional loss, crafted with vocals, fiddle, keys, and synths. Collaborating with Matthew Jacobson and Seán Mac Erlaine, Inni-K creates textured, melodic spaces that soothe and energize. Her music, praised for its emotional clarity and lyrical grace, continues to evolve while honoring tradition. As UCC’s Traditional Artist in Residence, she shares her artistry with students and audiences across Ireland.
