José Peixoto’s album Visita – Diálogos com Carlos Paredes is a poetic tribute to Portugal’s legendary guitarist, blending reverence with reinvention.
In Visita – Diálogos com Carlos Paredes, José Peixoto and Nuno Cintrão craft a heartfelt homage to the centenary of Carlos Paredes, the virtuoso of the Portuguese guitar. Released in October 2025, the album is divided into two sections—Visitas and Diálogos—featuring reimagined classics like “Verdes Anos” and “Canto de Embalar,” alongside original compositions inspired by Paredes’ spirit uguru.net. Peixoto’s arrangements, shaped through improvisation and deep musical dialogue, fuse classical and electric guitar textures, offering a contemporary echo of Paredes’ timeless voice.
Carlos Paredes (1925–2004), born in Coimbra, was heir to a dynasty of guitarists. Known as O Homem dos Mil Dedos (“The Man with a Thousand Fingers”), he revolutionized the Portuguese guitar with intricate melodies and emotional depth Wikipedia The Portugal News. His music, including film scores like Os Verdes Anos, became symbols of resistance during Portugal’s dictatorship. Imprisoned for his political beliefs, Paredes composed in silence, later emerging as a beacon of artistic and civic integrity. His legacy continues to inspire generations, and Visita stands as a luminous continuation of his musical dialogue.

Mystically - Gone
Mystically are a French vocal duo whose sound blends reggae roots with soul, Afro‑Caribbean and world influences; their 2025 album Résilience deepens that fusion, pairing warm harmonies with rhythmic diversity and political consciousness. The record, released 23 May 2025, features collaborations with Napoléon Maddox and Lidiop and moves between upbeat, danceable tracks and intimate, unplugged moments, exploring themes of healing, strength and communal hope.
